hello

A young man standing on a city sidewalk, looking at his reflection in a tall glass window, which creates a mirror image of him. The photo is in black and white.

KAIRO (Daniel Smith, London 1988) is a UK-based photographer working across hospitality, lifestyle and design-led brands, alongside long-term personal projects.

His work sits between minimalist urban landscapes and cinematic street scenes, drawn to stillness, natural light and the quiet presence of people within space. He’s interested in how atmosphere shapes a place and in the moments in-between. Images that feel like still frames from a film.

When not on assignment, he is usually walking with a camera, shooting street. That ongoing personal practice informs his commercial work, keeping his approach observational, restrained and grounded in real environments.

His imagery has featured in collaborations and editorials with La Piazza Monaco and Relentless Magazine, and his fine-art work has been exhibited internationally., establishing KAIRO as a distinctive voice in contemporary visual storytelling.

Photography is how I move through the world quietly, attentively, finding stillness in the spaces most people overlook.
