hello

A young man standing on a city sidewalk, looking at his reflection in a tall glass window, which creates a mirror image of him. The photo is in black and white.

KAIRO (Daniel Smith, London 1988) is a UK-based commercial photographer working across hospitality, architecture and placemaking.

His work is built around atmosphere, natural light and the quiet presence of people within space. Drawn to stillness and the moments in-between. Images that feel like still frames from a film.

His personal practice informs his commercial work, keeping his approach observational, restrained and grounded in real environments.

Commercial clients include La Piazza Monte-Carlo. His fine-art work has been exhibited across the UK, France, Monaco and Australia, with solo exhibitions including What Would Grace Do in 2023.

Photography is how I move through the world quietly, attentively, finding stillness in the spaces most people overlook.
